Our TK class had fun exploring the Dickinson County Nature Center! They learned about animal tracks and insects, played in the Pollinator Paradise, enjoyed the nature playscape, and even met a tarantula and a hissing cockroach up close.

Our seniors are balancing creativity and calculation in their latest physics project! To demonstrate their mastery of torque and static equilibrium, students designed and built custom-themed mobiles. Every dangling piece required precise math to ensure the entire system stayed perfectly balanced and didn't rotate. This project shows that physics is beautiful! #GrowAtSO #WolverineWay

🥇CONGRATULATIONS to our girls golf team for setting the new 18-Hole Team school record with a 360! The previous record of 362 was set in 1999 by Breanne Wittrock, Jennifer Einck, Lisa Dickmeyer, and Jennifer Petersen. Way to go, girls! #silverandblackpack #WolverineWay
These first graders finished up a unit on plants by planting grass seed and watering it each day. They were very excited to see it grow!

🏅CONGRATULATIONS to our FFA State Meats team for earning Reserve Grand Champion yesterday at the state competition in Ames! There were 37 chapters and 131 individuals competing. These South O'Brien students will represent Iowa at the Western National Meats Contest in Colorado next January. Way to go!
